DOMINOES project in Valverde, Portugal

E-Redes, one of DOMINOES partners, has conducted a customer engagement initiative in Valverde, Portugal.
From now on, with the collaboration of more than 20 customers from the community, the developments achieved in Valverde will be very important for new business models in the sector, enabling research and studies on energy efficiency, market models, maximizing integration and taking advantage of renewable resources.

DOMINOES presentation at ISGT-EuropeThe 2020 IEEE PES Innovative

Smart Grid Technologies Europe is a conference that had as theme the “Smart Grids: key enablers of a green power system”.
During the event, DOMINOES team presented two papers, the first one titled “Scheduling of Battery Energy Storage and Demand Response Resource in Balancing Ancillary Service”, on October 26th and the second one titles “Optimal Distribution Grid Operation Using Demand Response”, on October 28th in colaboration with EDPD.

H2020 DOMINOES major achievement

The paper “Towards transactive energy systems: An analysis on current trends”, authored by Omid Abrishambaf, Fernando Lezama, Pedro Faria, and Zita Vale, researchers from GECAD, Polytechnic of Porto, has been published in the journal Energy Strategy Reviews from Elsevier. The work represents a major achievement of the H2020 European project DOMINOES (grant agreement No. 771066). The paper is freely accessible at the following link:

DOMINOES Summer School @EEM 2019

EEM, 16th International Conference on the European Energy Market at Ljubljana, Slovenia in September 18th-20th, 2019. (

DOMINOES project will host a 90 min special session and panel discussion on local electricity markets, including their drivers, limitations, and market design.

DOMINOES participated in DREAM-GO workshop

DOMINOES H2020 project was presented in the final workshop of project DREAM-GO “Demand response approaches for real-time renewable energy integration” at ISEP-Polytechnic of Porto on January 16th, 2019. DOMINOES’ partners gave three talks in the session “Smart grids, energy markets and smart cities 1”. DOMINOES’ partners from Polytechnic of Porto (Zita Vale), EDP Distribution (Jose Sousa), and CNET (Gisela Mendes), gave a global vision and the pursuit objectives of the project mainly on the context of demand response, local markets, and energy communities. With these talks, DOMINOES continues paving the way towards a new market-driven approach in smart distribution grids.

General Assembly, November 13-14, Helsinki, Finland

On November 13 and 14 the second DOMINOES’ General Assembly took place. It was a fruitful and engaging meeting where a lot of ideas were shared and plenty of conclusions were achieved. Working hard to achieve a greater, cleaner and more participative energy future!
